How do I connect my S/PDIF speakers?

The motherboard may have a S/PDIF connection on the rear of the system. This is quite rare to see on modern motherboards though due to the age of this standard and the popularity having declined. Even when it was popular it was typically only seen on very high end motherboards.

On modern motherboards, some of them come with a S/PDIF header. You can connect S/PDIF adapters to this header that look something like this:

This is not a product we stock or sell but you can find it with some simple Google searches for key words like: SPDIF Optical and RCA Out Bracket

For fitting instructions, please consult your motherboard manual (online) and connect up the pins exactly as instructed. As this has a 5v line, if you do it wrong you can risk damage to the motherboard as well as this adapter.
